Medical Dermatology

Maintaining the health and appearance of your skin relies on gentle but effective daily care and regular visits to your Dermatologist's office to help prevent, diagnose and treat any potential abnormalities. The skin is susceptible to many different conditions, from acne, eczema and psoriasis to moles, warts and skin cancer lesions. Detecting these conditions as early as possible can often help minimize long-term damage to the skin and prevent complications from occurring.

At the Illinois Dermatology Institute, LLC, we provide general Dermatology services for patients of all ages. Dr. Greenberg can diagnosis, treat and help prevent mild to severe dermatologic conditions in both children and adults. Children often seek our services for moles and birthmarks, eczema, dermatitis, acne, warts, vitiligo and more. In adults, we commonly treat rosacea, psoriasis, actinic keratoses, skin cancer and more. We work with patients to find the best treatment for their individual condition, which includes a broad range of medical and surgical options.

In addition to handling a wide range of conditions, Dr. Greenberg also educates patients about their skin condition and the treatments available for it. We believe that patients should be actively involved in their care and do so through one-on-one consultations, which give the patient the chance to address any questions or concerns he or she may have.

Much as we understand how confusing this has been for some patients, many insurance companies have decided that preventative care coverage does not include skin cancer screenings. We are required to code and bill skin exams performed by the providers at IDI as office visits based on the American Medical Associatio's guidelines and the conditions diagnosed and treated during that visit. Your insurance will determine your financial responsibility based on the individual coverage within your plan. We are sorry but we cannot alter those firm guidelines. We strongly feel that annual skin exams are a vital part of your overall health plan no matter who covers the cost.
